LaTeX CV Layout
There's a few essential things that anyone using a computer must do. Perhaps the most understated and most important, certainly the most ignored, is to always keep a backup of anything important. It's not enough to keep making backups though, you also need to verify them. It's no good backing up your family photos if you make a mistake and copy them to the wrong place.
As you may have guessed, I failed to properly verify my own backups before reinstalling my systems. Thankfully, all I lost was the editable form of my résumé. The PDF version was online so I still had the information, but anyone who's tried to edit a PDF knows it doesn't always work out so well. Rather than try to recreate the same document in a word processor, I decided to use LaTeX to create my own layout.
The resume class I used is based heavily on Seth Holloway's LaTeX template with some ideas taken from cv-templates.info. I've committed the class file to Github; there is also a sample LaTeX document (PDF output) available to see how to use this class.
This résumé class uses features not available in standard LaTeX. To compile documents using this résumé class, use XeLaTeX instead.
